“Zampognarea”: traditional music in Catania.

In Catania, the Festival “Zampognarea – The world of bagpipes between men and sounds” is back with its 17th edition. In fact, from Dec. 8 until Jan. 6, 2022, a variety of places in the city will enjoy workshops, workshops for young and old, and most importantly, concerts.
These shows are an important part of Sicilian culture. Bagpipers, also known as ciaramiddari in dialect, every year during the Christmas holidays intone traditional melodies and characteristic performances, which cheer locals as well as tourists and transport everyone on a journey through eternal musicalities.

The festival was organized by Darshan and Areasud associations, with artistic direction by Maurizio Cuzzocrea.

The schedule of appointments, starting Dec. 22
