Novel presentation “Four cents a line”
On Friday, July 8, at 8 p.m., at the Loggiato del Sinatra in Ispica there will be the presentation of the book “Four Cents a Row. The evening will include a dialogue between author Lucio Luca and journalist Gianni Stornello and the participation of Giovanni Peligra who will perform some readings.
But what is the novel about?
Alessandro Bozzo is a Calabrian journalist in his late 40s. A crossroads in life to which he arrives with the burden of a series of threats from the ‘ndrangheta, a job increasingly in the balance, and a marriage that is about to fail. A provincial reporter, courageous and never subservient to the strong powers, who suddenly realizes how everything he had believed in and sacrificed his existence for is about to crumble. “Four Cents a Line,” the novel written by Lucio Luca for Zolfo Editore, recounts the context in which much of Italian journalism lives, especially in the South and in the suburbs: amid precariousness, exploitation, wages below decency, psychological pressure, mobbing, unscrupulous editors and daily intimidation.
An evening not to be missed!
