Flavors and colors of Autumn, Oct. 28-Oct. 30, 2022
The event aims to promote the typical products of the highest municipality of the Iblei, Buccheri, one of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy, as well as the World Capital of Quality Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Best Culinary Destination. A three-day event in which, in addition to tasting local delicacies, it will be possible to go on hikes in the woods adjacent to the small village and enjoy the views that the area offers.
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 28
5 p.m.: “Munuzzagghi e Ratteddi” by Maria Lucia Riccioli. Collection of poetry in the vernacular, with staged readings by Maria Burgio (at the premises of Via Matteotti, 1)
6 p.m.: Inauguration of the Sacred Art Exhibition “Inspiring Devotion”
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 29
3 p.m.: Inauguration and opening of the XXII MICOLOGICAL EXHIBITION by the A.M.B. Gruppo “A. Buda” Syracuse with an exhibition of wild mushrooms and in various preserves (at the premises of Via Matteotti, 11)
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 30
09.30/13.30 – 14.30/19.30: Opening to visits of the MYCOLOGICAL EXHIBITION (mycological consultations will be conducted during the exhibition).
10 a.m.: Free guided mycological excursion in the woods of Buccheri, by the A.M.B. Gruppo “Andrea Buda” of Syracuse (departure from the Mycological Exhibition headquarters).
10 a.m.: Free guided cultural excursion within the historic center to discover the treasures of Buccheri; Church of the Magdalene, Church of St. Anthony the Abbot, Fountain of the Four Canals, Neviere (departure from the Mycological Exhibition headquarters).
10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.: Creative Workshop “Autumn My Way” by the G.E.A. Association of Buccheri (at the premises of the Mycological Exhibition).
12 noon: National Day of Walking among the Olive Trees guided and curated by the City of Buccheri (departure from the Information Center, Matteotti Street No. 1).
1 p.m.: Free-choice lunch at Buccheri’s taverns and restaurants where you can enjoy autumn-themed menus.
5 p.m.: Presentation of the book “I want to live” by Giacomo Giurato.
Foliage
Buccheri is the “Village of the Woods,” with the highest forest concentration in the Province of Syracuse.
During the stay and its visit, especially in the period from late October to early November, it will be possible to enjoy the spectacle offered by the “FOLIAGE.” This is the natural event that can be seen in the woods due to the temperature range between night and day.
In addition, “foliage” is increasingly a social and sharing experience. Going to the woods and photographing their colors is undoubtedly a time that gives well-being. In addition, this activity can also be considered a health boon since spending the weekend or a few free hours in nature is known to be good for the body and spirit.
Recommended woods: Bosco S. Maria, Bosco Pisano, Bosco Contessa.
