“FerdinanDea, the island that is not there”: The Ways of the Treasures spring in Sciacca
A three-weekend festival, last on April 9 and 10, to reflect on the history and symbolism of the “Thinking Island.” FerdinanDea, built by the Routes of Treasures and the City of Sciacca, is dedicated to Ferdinadea Island, precisely, a magical place that emerged in 1831, following the underwater eruption of a volcano, which disappeared due to wave erosion as early as January 1832.
Over the course of this Festival, 12 places (churches, bell towers, private homes, museums) will be visited, each of which will be “marked” by a work by artist Franco Accursio Gulino, footprints of a single path against all prevarication.
