ArcheoTrekking in the heart of the Sicani Mountains
For Mother’s Day, an evocative hike in the midst of nature and full of beauty. ArcheOfficina organizes an immersive day in the Sicani Mountains, discovering the Abbey of Santa Maria del Bosco and the fortress of the Castle of Calatamauro.
A tour made possible thanks to the collaboration of several figures: from the archaeologists of ArcheOfficina, to Giuseppe Di Giorgio, an expert environmental hiking guide of the area, to the owners of the Abbey and the VivereSlow association. In short, a unique opportunity where art, history and nature come together in one tour.
The route plans to start at the entrance to Sambuca di Sicilia, and then reach the Rocca di Calatamauro fortress, where it is possible to visit the medieval fortification and enjoy the viewpoint over the Sicani Mountains. The day continues after a picnic lunch with a guided tour of Santa Maria del Bosco Abbey.
