THE PLOT.
Strepsiades is the main character: a naive and uncouth peasant, a father deep in debt because of the vices of his son, Pheidippides, a gambler and do-nothing.
Determined to learn the art of dialectics, the father went to the school of Socrates and the Sophists, insisting that his son also attend it.
Until, during a banquet, Pheidippides beats up Strepsiades, demonstrating that he can do so because of the rhetoric he learned in school. The father reacts by trying to set fire to the Socratics’ think tank.

Clouds are represented by the chorus and seem to mediate between fusis and logos, between the physical and nonphysical element. They symbolize a new philosophy.
