Historic Carnival of Acireale

The traditional Acireale Carnival returns from August 20 to 29. The first time floats, built for the occasion, paraded in the town in the province of Catania was in 1880.

In keeping with tradition, Carnival begins with an opening parade in which the court of the Carnival Queen is brought to life and the keys of the city are handed over to the Jester King. In addition to the parade of floats, the days are enlivened by cabaret shows, exhibitions, dance evenings, performances by majorettes and musical groups. A historical event dense with culture and folklore.

Event schedule.

On Friday, Saturday and Sunday there will be a float display starting at 7:30 pm. A green pass is not required.
The exhibition of miniature floats, on the other hand, can be visited Friday through Sunday, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., inside St. John Nepomuk Church, only with a green pass.
