Farm Cultural Park in Mazzarino

A new Farm Cultural Park location opens in Mazzarino. It is called The Embassy of Farm and follows in the footsteps of the first one, in Favara. The Farm Cultural Park is an urban regeneration project to combat the abandonment of small towns in Sicily.

Twelve years after its inception and debut, it will rise within the walls of the Bartoli Palace, a building owned by the family of one of the founders, Andrea Bartoli. He in 2010, with Florinda Saieva, turned what was previously a wish into reality.

It all began with a tragic event: on January 23 of that year, a building in the historic center of Faro collapsed and took the lives of two little girls. This happening did not leave the community indifferent, so Andrea and Florinda decided to realize their dream two years in advance: precisely, the Farm Cultural Park. Renovated courtyards, art exhibits-the result leaves multiple visitors in disbelief.

And this year the effort doubles with the opening of a second project location in the town of Mazzarino, set to become a cultural hub.

For two days, Jan. 7 and 8, there will be exhibitions and entertainment to usher in the event. Friday will open the dances by the artist Domenico Pellegrino, native of the place, from which will start workshops, meetings, music, paths, talks, performances. For Mazarin it will be like living a new Renaissance. It is there, in fact, that anthropologists, politicians, diplomats, urban planners, artists and creatives, philosophers, botanists and internationally renowned scientists will meet in the years to come to address present and future issues about people and human settlements.

An opportunity not to be missed! More details on the project’s Facebook page.
