Opificia, the fair dedicated to Sicilian crafts, food and wine and vintage, returns to enliven the magnificent halls of Villa Pottino, one of the examples of Palermo’s Liberty style, which escaped the ”sack” of Palermo in the 1960s.. Over the course of the weekend it will be possible to admire and purchase clothing, objects, jewelry, bags, ceramics and works of art, as well as taste local products and local beverages, at the more than 30 stations dedicated to the event. The event has been organized by theArtigianando Association and was born in 2019 from an idea of Luca Tumminia, president of the Association.
”Opificia is one of the most important events we organize because in addition to showcasing the work of many Sicilian artisans, the real focus of the association, it is part of a much larger project that Artigianando has been pursuing for several years, and that is to introduce as many people as possible to the historic places of this city. ”The first year the event,” Tumminia said, ”had over nine thousand attendees, and unfortunately, due to the pandemic, it was not possible to replicate every year.”
