Sicily by train: from Messina to Palermo by Peloritano

Ready to cross Sicily by train? On July 16 and 17, it will be possible to take a plunge into history aboard the legendary trains of the past. How? With the “Peloritano” running from Messina Central to Palermo Central and vice versa, along the railway that runs along the Tyrrhenian Sea.

The convoy consists of restored Gran Comfort coaches, which will allow passengers to enjoy an unforgettable trip to 1980s Sicily. An opportunity not to be missed!

On the outward journey, departure from Messina Centrale is scheduled at 2:50 p.m. with arrival at Palermo Centrale at 6:30 p.m.

For the return journey, departure from the regional capital at 10:25 a.m. and arrival over the Straits at 1:15 p.m.

As for prices, you will be able to board by paying 34 euros if you are an adult and 17 euros if you are still a child up to 14 years old.

As a reminder, from May 1, 2022, it is mandatory to wear FFP2 type mask or higher for nose and mouth protection to ride aboard historic trains.
