In Palermo, the multimedia exhibition of Van Gogh

“Van Gogh Multimedia & Friends” comes to Palermo, after forced stop due to pandemic. September 25 through February 20, 2022, it will be possible to visit the multimedia exhibition at Palazzo Bonocore in Pretoria Square.

This exhibition, dedicated to one of the most beloved painters of all time, with a troubled life, was conceived and realized by Navigare srl and curated by Professor Giovanna Strano, who has long conducted studies and research on the artist.

How is the exhibition structured?

This is not just an exhibition of the works. Rather, of a true dive inside Van Gogh’s life and his creations, enveloped in colors and music that radiate walls and surfaces. From one room to the next, one traces the stages of the protagonist’s existence, stepping into his emotions and feelings. In fact, the route is divided into major thematic areas according to the period.

“It is an ‘impossible’ exhibition that digitally reproduces all the provocative power of Vincent Van Gogh and his art that made him the genius we know,” says Salvatore Lacagnina, creator and promoter. The choice to present art through the use of advanced multimedia technologies allows its communicative power to be amplified. This, by simultaneously employing different transmission channels, the visual one of images, the auditory one of sounds and music, and the sensory one of objects and reconstructed environments.

The visitor,” he emphasizes, “is immersed in an enveloping journey, transported on a virtual journey to discover the painter, the artist, the man Van Gogh. We bring to life the life and works of the great Dutch master in a different key. All of this, through images and multimedia pathways that can catalyze the attention of visitors who are enchanted by the visual performance of Van Gogh’s works.”

The entire route is full of surprises: reconstructions of particular works, in-depth narrative voices, virtual reality usable with an app. An original, stimulating and all-encompassing way to learn about a painter who made history and not only for his paintings.
